From the moment I photographed my first child-led portrait session, I was completely hooked. There’s something undeniably powerful about being invited into someone’s world to capture the moments that matter most. I’ve stood in delivery rooms, documenting the first breath of a newborn as they're cradled in their parents’ arms. I’ve ridden coach boats, camera in hand, chasing sailboats as they race toward the finish line. I’ve volunteered with a high school equestrian team, been present in courtrooms during adoption finalizations, and celebrated everything from baby showers to first birthdays to Disney World family adventures. Every experience is unique, and every one of them fuels my passion.
Life shows up in so many forms — quiet, chaotic, triumphant, tender — and it all deserves to be remembered. For me, documenting real life and love isn’t just photography; it’s a sacred trust. Whether it’s a milestone event or an everyday moment, being invited into these intimate spaces is a privilege I never take lightly. I’m here not just to take pictures, but to tell stories — your stories — in a way that’s honest, heartfelt, and lasting.

The first time I met Jen Kroll was the evening of January 22, 2010. Jen was asked, by one of her clients, to photograph the homecoming to Grand Rapids Michigan of 17 orphans who were adopted from Haiti and evacuated immediately after the earthquake that happened on January 12, 2010. I was a board member for the orphanage and was in charge of coordinating the crowds of well wishers, the two private planes and many other details. Jen was thorough, Jen was thoughtful, she was professional while also being discrete. She did a phenomenal job of capturing the emotions of the moment and did so in a way that has created memories that countless people will treasure for the rest of their lives. I walked away from that evening saying, "Jen Kroll is the best type of person you could want to have to photograph your event." She isn't afraid to be "in the middle" but at the same time does it in a way that doesn't steal the limelight from those who deserve it.
