Kailin and Tom met in the high-stress, caffeine-fueled world of television production at NBC in New York, where tight deadlines and long hours somehow managed to spark a romance. After adopting their beloved (and thoroughly spoiled) Golden Doodle, Goose, they figured it was time to make things official. They chose to tie the knot at Kailin’s family summer cottage in Bay View, Michigan—a place full of charm, memories, and probably a few outdated board games.

With Covid still doing its thing, they kept the ceremony small and sweet, surrounded by immediate family and a few close friends. It was a meaningful and personal day, though they knew they weren’t done celebrating.

Fast forward a year: the masks came off, the dance floors reopened, and Kailin and Tom threw the party they’d been dreaming of at the Perry Hotel in Petoskey, Michigan. It was the perfect mix of laughter, love, and just enough questionable dance moves to make it memorable. I had the best time capturing it all—and I’m already looking forward to summer 2025 when I’ll be back for Kailin’s brother’s wedding. If this family knows one thing, it’s how to throw a party!
